We are meeting Monday evening at 6:00 PM CT/ 7:00 PM ET to tackle some vital administrative goals and recap our time at the Memphis Historic Cemetery Network Conference as we head into our massive October weekend.

Please review tonight’s agenda below and come ready with your updates:

  • Printing Logistics in Memphis: We need to figure out who can get our volunteer liability waivers printed locally in Memphis before Friday. We will also check in on the new business cards to confirm if they have been successfully printed and/or picked up. Do we need waivers for the musicians on Friday?
  • Lowe’s Grant Application: We are moving forward with applying for a community grant at Lowe’s to help fund our ongoing equipment and supply needs. We’ll discuss the application requirements and who can take the lead.
  • PNC Grant 2-Year Schedule: To apply for the PNC grant, we must submit a comprehensive 2-year project timeline. We need to brainstorm and build out this schedule tonight (or very soon by email or text) to show our long-term sustainability and phased reclamation plans.
  • Memphis Cemetery Network Conference Recap: The four of us who attended the conference at the U of M this weekend have a lot to report back. We will discuss the necessity of “baby steps,” the 50 types of expertise needed for this work, and how we plan to combat the devastating xAI highway proposal threatening the grounds.
  • 501(c)(3) Strategy: Can and should a brand new, separate 501(c)(3) be created specifically for Hollywood Cemetery, or do we continue moving forward exclusively under the MUSE, Inc. umbrella as advised by our grant writers? Let’s discuss the pros and cons of establishing a new entity.
  • Website Updates: Review the latest digital progress, newsletter engagement, and online outreach.
  • Documentary Updates: Check in with the film crew on the final logistics for capturing the “One Kind Favor” show on Friday, and the family interviews scheduled at Stax Music Academy this weekend.
